Implementation of Computer Based Testing in the Pre clinical Years of a Canadian Medical School

August 13, 2015
Presented by Dr. Michelle Gibson, Ms. Eleni Katsoulas, Ms. Amanda Consack In the Queen's University Faculty of Health Sciences School of Medicine, we noted concerns with our paper exams: high workload & time required to manage paper, risk for error with manual input of marks, & an exam bank that was not user-friendly or linked to exam production. This presentation will focus on our findings from implementing a computer-based testing process - time/cost savings, examination results availability, faculty buy-in and training, and student concerns - as well as our continued initiative for faculty development, rubrics use, and question validity.
