Reasons to Attend EAC 2017

March 24, 2017 Christy Terry

It’s the most wonderful time of year! Time for EAC! That’s right, the third annual ExamSoft Assessment Conference is a mere three months away, and trust us, you don’t want to miss what we have in store for attendees this year. We’re not just blowing smoke here. Ninety-four percent of EAC 2016 attendees stated that they would recommend EAC to their colleagues. Given the importance of data when it comes to successful assessment, we’re sure you understand how phenomenal that number is.

But if you’re not sold on attending this year, allow us to give you a few good reasons to reconsider:

1. Get a glimpse of an unconventional approach to student learning from our keynote speaker: Dr. Michael Wesch.

This year’s keynote address will undoubtedly change the way you approach student learning. Dr. Michael Wesch will discuss the ways in which his ethnographic fieldwork led him to develop adaptive teaching methods to encourage student success after graduation. Life 101: Lessons from Students in Pursuit of a Real Education is sure to leave attendees with plenty of insight to take back to the classroom.

2. Attend informational sessions led by ExamSoft staff and your assessment peers.

In addition to a fantastic keynote address, attendees will have access to three days of comprehensive learning sessions. With topics ranging from exam creation tips to producing the proper data for accreditation review, there’s bound to be an option to help your program make the most of its assessment process.

3. Network, network, network!

Bearing the burden of being the sole person responsible for all things assessment in your program? At EAC, you’ll be among those of us who speak your language. One of our regular EAC attendees, Ashley Castleberry, wrote about how meaningful it was to finally be around colleagues who got it: “It was so nice to feel a part of a larger family rather than simply the person my faculty call with ExamSoft questions.” You are not alone in your love of assessment—come and meet your people!

4. Enjoy a little leisure along with your learning.

We know what you’re thinking. A three-day conference, jam packed with educational resources and sessions, may not seem like it leaves much room for fun and games. We’ve got you covered. You can enjoy plenty of time with peers during scheduled receptions, happy hours, and breaks between sessions.

5. Take time to explore Denver.

We highly encourage attendees to experience all that the Mile High City has offer. Take in the mountain air at Red Rocks Park, indulge in pre-historic exploration at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, or root for the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

What more could you ask for in an assessment conference? Register today and meet us in Denver this June for EAC 2017!
