Presented by Jose Lopez, Associate Director of Academic Technology, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Creating custom reports may pose limitations using proprietary third-party licensed software. At Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center- Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, we were able to alleviate this challenge through our collaborative efforts with ExamSoft-development team and the creation of a web service interface. This web service provides the retrieval of assessment data directly from ExamSoft and into our database, allowing the opportunity to develop several in-house tailored reports that integrate with our Curriculum Management System. Currently ExamSoft’s Item Analysis report does not include or show images on given exams; through this technology we were able to reconstruct the Item Analysis report displaying the associated images and deliver it to our faculty. We also have the ability to send our students personalized assessment feedback on missed item objectives via email, as well as a personalized Analysis report which shows assessment comparison against their class.
