Help! I need to write an assessment!

Then, we find ourselves at the end of the night, fatigued because we've just finished graded today's assignments, tasked with coming up with new assignments for our students to complete tomorrow. How can we best ensure that the new student learning assessment instruments we create for our students are valid and rigorous?
