Infusing Technology into a School of Nursing: Electronic Testing and a Student iPad Initiative

Presented by Dr Barbara Blackwell, RN-BC, Director, Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing The technological imperative for healthcare demands that nurses and other professionals become information literate, technologically astute, and generally comfortable with technology. This presents education with a new imperative to assist the student to become comfortable with technology and the burgeoning technological imperative present in society. Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing has united with the Medical Center to formulate a learner centered focus through an infusion of technology in all aspects of the teaching-learning continuum. The school of nursing, in the second phase of its two-year journey, instituted an electronic testing system along with a student iPad initiative. Recorded February 19, 2015
